Which cameras work?

Fujifilm X-series cameras that support USB RAW conversion, the same feature Fujifilm's desktop X RAW STUDIO uses. We have tested the X-T5, firmware 4.31, end to end: previews, full-size renders, all 20 film simulations, and reading, writing and restoring the custom settings C1–C7.

The app knows the 30 bodies on Fujifilm's X RAW STUDIO compatibility list (X-H2S, X-H2, X-H1; X-Pro3, X-Pro2; X-T5, X-T4, X-T2, X-T50, X-T30 III, X-T30 II, X-T30, X-T20; X-E5, X-E4, X-E3; X-S20, X-S10; X100VI, X100V, X100F; X-M5; GFX100 II, GFX100S II, GFX100RF, GFX100, GFX100S, GFX50S II, GFX 50S, GFX 50R). Bodies other than the X-T5 are untested by us, not unsupported: the app asks the connected camera what it can do and tells you. If yours works, or doesn't, we would like to hear.

Not yet verified: very large files (the 100 MB-plus RAFs of GFX bodies), older X-Processor 4 bodies' timing, and USB 2 iPhones (every iPhone before the 15 Pro). These should work, but we have not measured them.

Which setting on the camera?

Two settings, both on the camera's network/USB setting tab (MENU/OK › the tab with the network icon). The app's Camera tab shows the same path.

  1. USB POWER SUPPLY/COMM SETTING › AUTO
  2. CONNECTION MODE › USB RAW CONV./BACKUP RESTORE (called USB MODE on older bodies)

Menu wording varies a little between bodies. If the app says "Wrong connection mode", the camera is in another mode (card reader, webcam or tethering); change it and tap Check again. The camera stays plugged in.

Which cable?

A USB-C data cable, 1 m or shorter. A charge-only cable powers the camera but carries no data, and the app will never see it. On an iPhone with a Lightning port, use Apple's Lightning to USB camera adapter. Unlock the phone if iOS asks whether to allow the accessory.

Can I transfer photos over Wi-Fi?

Yes. Pair the camera once: press its Bluetooth button in shooting mode, choose Bluetooth › PAIRING, and confirm the same code in fujiposts. On the camera, set SELECT FILE TYPE to JPEG + RAW and RESIZE IMAGE FOR SMARTPHONE to OFF. Then tap Connect: the camera opens its own Wi-Fi and the phone joins it. The first time, iOS asks to join the camera's Wi-Fi and to find devices on your local network; allow both. RAW over Wi-Fi is slower than JPEG, and if the camera doesn't offer RAW, only JPEGs come over. Keep the app open while it transfers.

Why does the phone ask for the camera permission?

iOS uses one permission for every camera, including one on a cable. fujiposts uses it only to talk to your Fujifilm body over USB and never opens the iPhone's camera. The first time you connect, iOS asks "Allow fujiposts to use the camera?" or similar: tap Allow. If you tapped Don't Allow, open iOS Settings › fujiposts and turn Camera on, then plug the camera in again.

Where do my photos go?

Everything stays in the app until you share. RAWs you import from Photos, the camera's card or over Wi-Fi are copied into the app; a Files folder stays where it is and is read in place. Developed photos and framed copies live in the app's Library. Share, Save to Photos and Save to Files are the only way a file leaves, and each is a full-size JPEG with the camera's metadata kept. Originals are never overwritten. To delete photos, tap Select in the Library, tick them and tap Delete; photos in a linked Files folder are never deleted.

What does iCloud sync do?

Off by default. On, it syncs your recipes, the camera backups you marked Keep and your remembered frame choices between your devices, through your own iCloud. Photos, albums and edits do not sync. See the Privacy Policy.

Restore purchases, cancel the subscription

Restore: Settings › Pro › Restore purchases, or the link on the paywall. Cancel: iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions › fujiposts. A cancelled plan keeps Pro until the paid period ends. Refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Full terms.

The camera stopped answering

Cameras can wedge if a command is interrupted. The app never retries on its own, because retries make it worse. Switch the camera off and on, keep the cable in, and tap Check connection. A render takes about five seconds on the X-T5; developing 20 photos takes a minute or two, in the foreground with the screen kept awake.
